About With Many Hands
With Many Hands was born out of the belief that we need more working-class people in leadership of campaigns this midterm election year, and every year to come! We know that many of us are facing hard times. We also know that the most creative solutions will be found by making sure working people’s voice are heard in electoral campaigns. With Many Hands is here to support working people coming together to learn the skills they need to become the next wave of electoral organizers.
Who is With Many Hands
Tomás Garduño is founder of With Many Hands and author of Fundamentals of Electoral Organizing. He is a long-time organizer for justice with over 25 years of experience that spans issues, states and types of organizing. Tomás comes from a long line of people who work the land. He’s a New Mexican who spends most of his time in the Hudson Valley of New York. He loves an underdog story and is always looking out for the little guy.
The Fundamentals of Electoral Organizing is an offering to the movement for justice. It’s for working class people who want to organize other working class people in our shared interests of building political power. Think of it as a strategist’s guidebook, or an operator’s manual. Keep it in your back pocket, it just might come in handy.
He has worked as a community organizer, campaign manager and strategic advisor for two dozen grassroots social justice organizations, a dozen independent expenditure electoral campaigns, a handful of working class candidate campaigns and several institutes/universities. His most formative experiences were his time as co-director of the SouthWest Organizing Project (SWOP) and organizer of the People’s Climate March.
Jeneva Martinez aka Drama Mama is an international park and derby skate coach. Jeneva is native to SE New Mexico and raised in Roswell, NM. Last and definitely not least Jeneva is a wife, a proud mom of 3 sons and 2 grandsons.
Vic Gómez lives in their great-grandmothers house in the South Valley of Albuquerque. Vic comes to us as the Organizing Director at OLÉ. Now, as an organizer at With Many Hands, they bring the passion to build power with working people. Working people far outnumber the wealthy — together we can win real change led by us, as experts. Vic is dedicated to creating space for everyone. Vic loves walking their 2 pit-bulls in the Rio Grande Bosque.
